Description

The Contender 32 ST is a high-performance offshore center-console designed primarily as a serious sport fishing machine, embodying Contender’s “Performance Through Innovation” philosophy. Built for anglers who demand capability in all conditions—from offshore bluewater to relaxed days at the sandbar—this model combines rugged durability with customizable options to suit a variety of fishing and recreational needs. The stepped hull design contributes to a fast, efficient ride, helping the boat reach speeds of 60 mph and improving fuel efficiency and handling compared with traditional deep-V hulls.

Measuring 32 feet 7 inches in length overall (LOA) with a beam of 9 feet 8 inches, the 32 ST sits in a sweet spot for both serious offshore runs and trailer-ready maneuverability. Its deep-vee hull with about 24.5 deadrise at the transom and self-bailing cockpit ensure a soft ride through chop and rough seas while keeping the deck dry and safe for anglers. Standard construction features hand-laid fiberglass with multi-directional fabric and foam-cored stringers, foam flotation for added safety, and a sturdy rub rail—all hallmarks of Contender’s build quality.

Powering the 32 ST are twin Yamaha 300hp outboard engines. The standard fuel capacity of approximately 310 gallons gives the boat the range to tackle long offshore runs without worry. Cruising speeds in practical settings are often in the mid-30 mph range with very efficient fuel consumption, and top speeds comfortably at 60 mph with appropriate tuning and conditions.

Layout and functionality are built around fishing utility and comfort. The open deck offers generous space for anglers, with large, fully insulated fish boxes fore and aft (forward fishboxes often around 130 gallons plus additional storage), under-deck rod lockers, and recessed livewells, with a 3rd in-deck livewell on a hooker electric Sea Chest system. The walk-in console provides secure electronics storage and room for a marine head, while seating configurations—such as forward console loungers, optional bow seating, and leaning posts with tackle storage—can be tailored to owner preferences. The cockpit sole and deck feature non-skid surfaces for safety, and options such as saltwater washdowns, upgraded upholstery, and radar/ electronics packages further enhance functionality.

Overall, the 2023 Contender 32 ST is a muscular, versatile offshore center console designed for anglers who want tournament-ready performance without sacrificing day-to-day comfort or customization. Its combination of build quality, seaworthiness, speed, and fishing-centric layout makes it a benchmark in its class for serious mariners and sport fishers alike.
