PEARL is a stunning Grand Mistral Maxi One Design, crafted in France by Mistral Composite to the exacting standards of legendary designer Bruce Farr. Originally conceived as a pure ocean racer, she has been comprehensively refitted between 2010 and 2023 by a team of seasoned professionals, transforming her into one of the world’s most capable high-performance bluewater cruisers. Every detail has been optimised for fast, shorthanded, long-distance passage-making.

Her performance is breathtaking. Built to Bruce Farr’s iconic Maxi One Design lines with a Kevlar/epoxy hull extensively reinforced with carbon, a full carbon rig and a 2022 Evolution Sails wardrobe, PEARL remains incredibly fast and stiff. Trade-wind conditions see her comfortably achieving 250–300 nautical mile days at averages of 10–12 knots, with top speeds of 24 knots under surf. Reaching and downwind she sustains 16–17 knots, while upwind she delivers full power at 25° apparent wind angle, even in lighter conditions. Her deck layout is intuitive and shorthanded-friendly, with electric winches, a bow thruster, retractable dodger, carbon swing swim platform and fresh teak decks, making her easy to handle with just one or two crew.

Below decks, PEARL offers practical, comfortable living for extended voyages. Accommodation includes an owner’s double cabin aft with private en-suite, two generous single cabins, a large well-equipped galley with substantial refrigeration, and a large and comfortable saloon. A dedicated technical workshop and separate laundry room enhance her self-sufficiency, complemented by twin generators, a 200 L/h watermaker, Webasto diesel heating and the latest 2025 Simrad navigation suite. A full offshore safety package ensures peace of mind for any adventure.

For recreation between passages, she carries a 2023 AB 12-foot aluminium RIB with a 20hp Yamaha outboard, wing foil, windsurfing and scuba equipment, an air compressor, comprehensive fishing gear and even a professional sailmaker’s sewing machine.
